Mega Millions Winners for August 16, 2018

A mystery person in Nebraska won $1 million dollars this week, matching all five white balls.

This player did not play the Megaplier option, meaning they won a total of $1 million.

One particular ticket won the largest prize in Michigan.

There were 216,493 tickets that won at least $4 in the drawing; in Michigan, there were 7,829 tickets that won at least $4.

Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70 in the Mega Millions drawings on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. The ball with a number 1-25 is then drawn to determine the mega ball. Jackpot odds are 1 in 302 million.

This lottery game is played in 44 states, DC, and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost 2 dollars a piece.

The next drawing for the Powerball is Wednesday, Aug. 17 with an estimated jackpot of $66 million and a cash option of $38.3 million.

Wednesday's Fantasy 5 jackpot is $144,000. The drawing is tonight at 7:29 and the deadline is 7:08.

The last group of people to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot was the Wolverine FLL lottery club which won $1.05 billion in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans on giving back to the community.

People who want to find out if they’re a winner should check the ticket right after they purchase it, as the winning ticket worth $1 million sold in Warren last year went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state's School Aid Fund.
