ISTANBUL: World powers enter a second and final day of talks with Iran on Saturday, having made scant progress toward persuading the Islamic Republic to curb its nuclear program on the first day of the meeting in Istanbul. There was some relief that Iran was ready to continue, as diplomats expressed concern that talks could have collapsed on the first day as both sides dug in around old positions. The West suspects that Iran plans to develop a nuclear weapon and negotiators went into the Istanbul meeting with low expectations for any breakthrough in the eight-year-old stand-off.

WASHINGTON: Chinese President Hu Jintao called on Wednesday for greater cooperation between the Chinese and US militaries to build trust. “The two sides believe that the expansion of exchanges and cooperation between our militaries contributes to deepening mutual trust between our countries and the growth of our overall relationship,” Hu told a joint news conference with President Barack Obama. Military relations have been at the heart of tensions between the two nations, with the United States repeatedly urging China to be more transparent about its growing defense spending.
Nintendo 3DS: US Price & US / UK Release Date Confirmed

Now that Nintendo’s dual Nintendo 3DS press events are going ahead we can finally confirm some important information regarding release dates for US and UK consumers, a US price has been given, however there still a mystery surrounding a price for Europeans. Let’s start with the all-important details for United States citizens, Nintendo will launch the 3DS in the US on March 27th for $249.99, we are also assured that there will be 30+ games released between the handheld’s launch and the beginning of E3 2011 (June 7). Obama, Hu to confront economic strains

If you live in the United States or Europe and were hoping to get your hands on a copy of The Last Story, then I think we have some rather disappointing news for you. It appears that the upcoming RPG title won’t be released outside of Japan – not at this stage anyway!! According to Matthew Reynolds over at digitalspy.co.uk (sourced from vg247.com ), Nintendo has just announced that it has no current plans to release The Last Story in North America or Europe. Japanese gamers on the other hand will receive the Nintendo Wii game on January 27th

Over 80 dead in Bajaur suicide attack, raids

KHAR: More than 80 people were killed in a suicide bombing on a World Food Programme project and a series of helicopter raids against militant camps in northwestern Pakistan, officials said. A suicide bomber wearing a burqa, who some officials said was a woman, killed at least 43 people at a World Food Programme distribution point in a tribal area bordering Afghanistan on Saturday. The blast occurred in Khar, the main town of Bajaur tribal district, once a stronghold of Taliban militants who have carried out several bombings and suicide attacks in the area.

KARACHI: The prices of local equities ended higher at Karachi Stock Exchange on Friday following the release of funds from the United States for the country, which slightly eased investors concerns over its deteriorating macroeconomic indicators, dealers said.
