PSN downtime postponed, plans ruined for March 1st

If there’s one thing PlayStation 3 owners hate it’s PSN downtime, well today we have a little bit of good news for you as Sony has officially announced that the 14 hours of planned maintenance which was scheduled to take place on March 1st has been postponed. Sony used Twitter to reveal this news and we’ve embedded the tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter below

If you are a fan of legendary FPS series DOOM and have been keeping an eye on all the latest developments regarding the game, you’ll probably be as surprised as we are after hearing reports this week that the game has been cancelled. The good news, is that it looks like the game hasn’t been cancelled and it was just a hoax. AllGamesBeta picked up on some alleged leaked images from 4Chan along with the rumors of the game’s cancellation, but Bethesda has been quick to respond by saying that this information is not true

The game has now been given a semi-official reveal on the cover of OXM and more details, some surprising, have been revealed in the process. If you picked up the first game in the reboot, you’ll know that the impressive single-player was handled by Danger Close, while multiplayer was overseen by DICE who are obviously well known for the Battlefield series.

Just like last weekend, another close battle was waged at the box office , and this time Denzel Washington has come out on top. The Oscar winner’s latest foray into the action genre, Safe House should gross an estimated $24 million over the three days – giving it $78 million total. That’s a great number for the film, which will cross the $100 million mark and make it one of Washington’s highest grossing efforts.
