In an age when studios often greenlight the screenwriting process for a sequel before a first installment has even hit theaters (see: 21 Jump Street ), Walt Disney Pictures was relatively slow on the uptake to officially give the go-ahead for a followup to The Muppets - which will bring back director James Bobin and co-writer Nicholas Stoller ( but not co-writer/star Jason Segel ). The ball is now rolling on Muppets 2 (or, rather, the eighth theatrically-released Muppet movie) with Stoller and Bobin collaborating on the script. Where exactly the film will go in terms of plot – which is always the major concern with a Muppet flick (kidding) – and how soon Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Co.

Namco Bandai has given fans a much needed update on the status of the console version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It’s out on arcade machines now in Japan, but the developer has just revealed at Namco Gamers Day that the game will be available this September.

Here’s some good news at last to bring you regarding Street Fighter X Tekken. After the now-infamous shenanigans involving on-disc DLC , Capcom has announced that the PS Vita version of the game will feature cross-platform multiplayer with the PS3 version. So far Capcom has only announced exclusive Vita only characters to the portable version of the game, but we’re glad to see that they have now confirmed the one big feature that was high on the request list for a lot of you.
