KARACHI: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said here on Sunday that President Asif Ali Zardari had summoned a meeting for Monday to review the prevailing law and order situation in Karachi, Geo News reported. Talking to media men here, Rehman Malik said all the parties will have to work hand in hand to restore peace in the metropolitan city. Replying a question, the Interior Minister ruled out possibility of any operation in Karachi but added that wherever needed police and rangers would work together to neutralize any threat.

SINGAPORE: Hopes of a resolution to the US debt impasse buoyed crude markets in Asia Thursday as traders awaited eurozone crisis talks aimed at preventing a Greek financial meltdown, analysts said. New York”s main contract, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) light, sweet crude for September delivery, rose 28 cents to $98.68 a barrel on its first trading day. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in September edged up nine cents to $118.24.
