Talking to media in New Delhi, Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Shahid Malik said that according to new visa procedure, elderly persons will be exempted from police reporting while the citizens of both the countries will be allowed to visit three cities instead of one at present. Shahid Malik said that the businessmen will get multiple-entry and police reporting-free visas while the citizens will be allowed to visit their ancestral cities.

‘Bomb threat’ on Pakistan flight to Dubai

ISLAMABAD: A bomb threat delayed a Pakistani passenger flight bound for Dubai by four hours, with officials clearing it to take off after searches found no explosive device on board. The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight was preparing for a scheduled 11:00 am (0600 GMT) departure from Lahore when an anonymous caller rang the airport claiming there was a bomb on board. “The plane has been thoroughly searched and no bomb was found, it has taken off at 3:00 pm,” Hasan told AFP.

US lawmakers approve tying Pakistan aid to NATO supply

Staff Report WASHINGTON: The US House of Representatives approved a bill comprising a proposal to make the payment of Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan hinged upon the restoration of NATO supply, SAMAA reports Friday. The lower legislative house of the US adopted the amendment in the defence bill with 412 votes in favor and only one in opposition. Under the amendment, the payment of aid worth 650 million dollars to Pakistan has been made contingent upon the country’s decision to re-open supply routes to NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan.

PPP Sindh discusses Local Bodies system

Pakistan forex reserves drop to $16.103 bln

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves dropped to $16.103 billion in the week ending May 11 from $16.416 billion the previous week, the central bank said on Thursday.
