Final decision on NATO supply not yet taken: PM

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that no final decision has been taken with regard to resumption of NATO supplies so far. Talking to media on Friday after a meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi, he said that the Parliamentary Committee on National Security gave its recommendations and the Defence Committee of Cabinet had disused them. “I have four priorities for the upcoming budget,” said Gilani, listing them down as electricity, employment, no new taxes and relief to the agriculture sector.

PPP Sindh discusses Local Bodies system

Staff Report KARACHI: Sindh council of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) discussed 28-page document consisting of proposals over local bodies system to be introduced in the province, SAMAA reports Friday. Speaking after the meeting that lasted for five hours, Sindh Minister for Law, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro said the government wants to introduce a new local bodies system in conformity with the 1979 Local Bodies System and prevalent circumstances of 2012.
PML-N not accepts Gilani as PM, says Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said that his party will not allow the appointment of chief election commissioner (CEC) as per the government’s wishes. He said that after Yousuf Raza Gilani’s conviction he does not accept him as the prime minister. Talking to media, Nawaz Sharif said that government will be forced not to interfere in the rule of law.
JUI-F refuses to recognize Ch Nisar as Opp leader

According to a statement issued from Islamabad, JUI-F Secretary General Abdul Ghafoor Haidri said that the party of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had been playing the role of a friendly Opposition. He said that the PML-N had cheated its coalition partners by contesting general polls, adding that the PML-N did not face the government for offices of Chairman and Deputy Chairman in order to have office of Opposition leader in the Senate. He also accused Ch Nisar Ali Khan gets approval from military corners by having secret meetings with them.
