US lawmakers approve tying Pakistan aid to NATO supply

Staff Report WASHINGTON: The US House of Representatives approved a bill comprising a proposal to make the payment of Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan hinged upon the restoration of NATO supply, SAMAA reports Friday. The lower legislative house of the US adopted the amendment in the defence bill with 412 votes in favor and only one in opposition. Under the amendment, the payment of aid worth 650 million dollars to Pakistan has been made contingent upon the country’s decision to re-open supply routes to NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan.

Student self-immolates in Faisalabad

Teacher of a government school in Warispura expelled an 11-year-old student Umar from class rooms on remaining absent and asked him to send his parents for further discussion. According to some family members, father of the child also got angry and refused to go to meet the teacher.
