For those of you who have been in the possession of a Sony PS Vita for a few months now, the respective store to which your system is registered to has probably just come alive with a whole plethora of new demos, videos and apps to explore.

Unfortunately though, Sony has made it very difficult for users with multiple PSN accounts to enjoy the content since the company continues to update stores with different content at completely different times.

For example, our Vita console is set up with a US PSN account and we now see both the EU and US stores updated with the first wave of Vita content to download – second for the US store if you picked up your system via the First Edition bundle. On first glance we can see that the EU store received four new apps to use – those being Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and Flickr. In comparison, the US store only received three apps by getting Twitter, Flickr and Netflix with no word from Sony why Facebook wasn’t deemed ready for US release.

On the demo side of things, it’s the same story. There are new demos to download on both stores for Unit 13 and FIFA Football, but if you want to try out Dynasty Warriors, Modnation Racers: Road Trip, or WipEout you’ll only be able to do so with a EU account as they are missing from the US store. We understand that both stores have only just gone live, but it’s a little disappointing that Vita owners with a US account cannot try out the same demos like those with EU accounts.

For those of you thinking, OK I’ll just download them from the EU PS3 store and then transfer to my Vita with a US account – you can’t. Sony has put a block in place so that you can only download Vita items on the PS3 if you are using the same account to which your Vita is set up with. If you try to do it any other way, you’ll see the following screen pop up on your Vita.

We understand why Sony has done this as they want to protect the system from piracy, but not allowing PS3 content at least to be transferred between different store accounts is a little frustrating. Especially since the problem would be solved if Sony made the effort to ensure that Vita stores are updated with the exact same content for the EU and US stores – demos at the very least.

As a result, some of you in the US may be wondering why on earth you cannot use the Facebook app, and try out three demos which are already available on the EU store. It’s not the end of the world though since the content that’s missing will probably end up on the store a week later – but rather a plea to Sony to update the store with the same content to make up for their strict stance on PSN Vita accounts.

What are your thoughts on this guys? As you open up your precious Vita for the first time, have you tried to transfer content to and from your PS3 to Vita using multiple region accounts? It’s not exactly a smooth process switching memory cards either since doing so requires you to backup data each time and ‘reactivate’ your Vita with the memory card. If you don’t mind spending a little while doing these steps though, you can still change PSN stores and access content from other regions.

With that said and done, how are you finding your Vita at the moment? The 5-inch OLED screen really is a thing of beauty, would you agree? Rayman Origins looks amazing on the Vita so we definitely recommend trying out the demo if you have just picked up your system and are looking to download some content from the store. On a side note, we’ve noticed that plugging the Vita into the PS3 system doesn’t charge it either – let’s hope that Sony is planning to include this feature in a future firmware update as that would be very handy.

It has been a mixed experience for most of you with Call of Duty Elite accounts. If you’re unhappy with the DLC strategy that Activision has scheduled for Modern Warfare 3, you may be interested to hear that the service is about to get a long overdue feature update.

You may have forgotten about the clan operations feature of Elite that was promised by Activision a long time ago when the service was just rolling out. The feature obviously wasn’t ready by the time Elite launched, but at least it is going to add some fresh functionality to your subscription to make you feel that your $50 is actually worth it.

Starting from this week though, Clan Ops on Elite is going live for both Xbox 360 and PS3 subscribers and will allow you to be ranked based on your performance in completing certain requirements as a clan in a given multiplayer mode and within a time limit.

Clan leaders will be in charge of accepting operations for the team, and it will be the responsibility of other clan members to point out various operations for the team to complete if they are interested. Activision has come up with four tiers of prizes which are bronze, silver, gold and champion. If you manage to qualify in the winning tiers, you’ll be awarded with some prizes for your clan such as badges and clan XP. Best of all though, if you earn the champion rank in an official prized operation, Activision will dish out some real prizes to you.

There’s no word on what real prizes you can expect to see, but we expect Activision will make things worth your while – future access to Call of Duty games, trips to Infinity Ward HQ, special made in-game custom skins would be some great ideas off the top of our heads.

One question that a lot of you are wondering about is if Clan Ops will be open to everyone with a standard Elite account. The answer to this is yes, but if you want to be ranked and be eligible to win prizes, you’ll have to get the Elite premium account that costs $50 a year.
