Whitney Cummings Lands E! Talk Show; NBC’s ‘Whitney’ Canceled?

Comedian Whitney Cummings may have inadvertently revealed the cancellation of her NBC comedy Whitney , by announcing her upcoming talk show on E! While there’s been no official word from NBC on the fate of Whitney , E! has declared that it has indeed given Cummings’ new weekly talk show – dubbed Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings - the green light. Love You, Mean It, which will air Wednesdays this fall along with The Soup , is officially described as “ Cummings’ open forum to discuss her favorite topics, which include pop culture and celebrity happenings, life, relationships, sex and more.
Starz Orders Michael Bay ‘Treasure Island’ Prequel Series ‘Black Sails’

Transformers director Michael Bay is set to drop anchor as executive producer on the new Starz pirate adventure drama, tentatively titled Black Sails . Created by Jon Steinberg ( Jericho , Human Target ) and Robert Levine ( Touch ), the straight-to-series order will consist of an eight episode first season, which is expected to launch in 2014
CW Renews ‘The Vampire Diaries’ For Season 4

The CW has announced that it’s giving early renewals to a few of its heavy hitters – including renewing teen-thriller The Vampire Diaries for a fourth season. HBO Picks Up ‘True Detective’ with Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson

Real-life buddies Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are joining the HBO team for a new cop drama called True Detective . HBO has given the green light for an eight-episode order after the fledgling series was shopped around to different networks earlier this month. Written by Nic Pizzolatto ( The Killing ), the first season of True Detective will center on a pair of detectives, Martin Hart (Harrelson) and Rust Cohle (McConaughey), who end up crossing paths on a 17- year hunt for a serial killer deep within Louisiana
Arnold Schwarzenegger to Headline Drug Cartel Thriller, ‘Ten’
