Over the course of the past two years, Sylvester Stallone has altered his stance from being “99% sure” that Rambo 5 isn’t going to happen and expressing interest in directing a First Blood prequel , to last year’s announcement about a possible fifth Rambo flick ( subtitled Last Stand ) and saying that he’s now “dying” to produce one more chapter in the Vietnam Vet’s violent saga. Stallone has spoken out again about Rambo 5 (which has yet to be officially greenlit), describing the still-theoretical project’s current situation as “There’s a volcano eruption [brewing].

Joe: Retaliation , which bucks the sequel/reboot trend by being equal parts both. Little progress has been made on 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil reboot since David Slade was brought aboard to helm the project – so little that the 30 Days of Night and Eclipse filmmaker has found time to direct an episode on Breaking Bad and the pilot for Awake , while also preparing to oversee the pilot for Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal series . However, the Daredevil reboot’s engine looks to start puttering once again, now that Fox has recruited a little-known writer in the form of David James Kelly, to rework the screenplay for the Marvel comic book movie project. Deadline has the scoop on Kelly being hired on to revamp the current script draft for the Daredevil reboot, penned by Brad Caleb Kane (a former co-showrunner and writer for Fringe )

After the considerable commercial and critical success of last summer’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes , it’s no surprise that 20th Century Fox recently announced that filming on Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2 could begin as early as this summer. According to Coming Soon , Tom Rothman, Chief Creative Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, delivered the news, but stopped short of revealing any other relevant details, including possible release dates. Summer 2013 is theoretically a possibility, but the field is already fairly crowded with other big-budget Fox projects, including the Marvel superhero actioner The Wolverine .
