PS3 Update 3.50: Download Firmware Now and Features List

Sony has today released a new firmware update for the Sony PlayStation 3 , this system software update brings the console to firmware version v3.50 and adds Blu-ray 3D Disc Playback functionality, let’s just hope it rolls out smoothly and doesn’t cause too many problems. The 3D Blu-ray 3D disc playback is not the only new feature this update brings, there is now Facebook integration which will allow games to interact with your Facebook profile, also the whole Facebook experience should be a lot better on the whole. Another new feature is the new Grief Reporting Function, this allows you to report any inappropriate messages that you receive from other PSN users, this is accessible via the options menu in the messages list in the FRIENDS category.

PS4 release will benefit Sony software developers

It is no secret that the PlayStation 3 is not the most developer-friendly console on the market, however it seems as if Sony has listened to the criticism and will address this issue when they design, manufacture and develop the PlayStation 4 . Apparently developers will have a lot more input when it comes to the PlayStation 4′s design, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida recently suggested that developing the PlayStation Move showed just how important and beneficial developer input really is. Sony’s hardware manufacturers were not the first involved with PlayStation Move, instead Sony’s Worldwide Studio tried out many different motion controller-related technologies such as 3D cameras and ultrasound.

It was only a matter of time before the war of words continued between Microsoft and Sony, as Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has spoken out on the lineup of PS Move software, days after it’s release in the US. As reported from CVG , Greenberg was speaking at the Tokyo Game Show when he revealed his opinions that Sony’s Playstation Move titles are just ‘modified’ versions of standard controller games.

We have some good news for Starcraft 2 owners now, as developers Blizzard have confirmed a release date for the new patch update v1.1, as well as a list of what is coming in the update. As reported from Joystiq , we can confirm that the update will be landing on Tuesday 21st September, and that it should be available from 11am PT after a scheduled maintenance period.
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (MvC3): Release Date Update for Xbox 360, PS3

Following on from the reveal of four new characters at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, we now have an update for you regarding a release date for the highly anticipated Marvel Vs Capcom 3 beat-em-up. As reported from Joystiq , some details found within Capcom’s latest financial report has revealed that the company are due to launch the game during the 4th quarter of the current fiscal year. That word ‘fiscal’ can often get confusing to the average gamer, so it basically means that the game will be out between January 1 and March 31, 2011 – at least it narrows it down a bit now from previous speculation.

We have some great news for Star Wars fans now, as we can confirm that the full version of MMO game Clone Wars Adventures is finally available to play after a successful beta testing period. For those that didn’t participate in the beta, you’ll be delighted to hear that the game is free-to-play, although if you want to experience the full package, i.e character and lightsaber customization, you’ll need to purchase the extra goodies from Sony Online Entertainment.
