‘Act of Valor’ Super Bowl Promo Features Real SEALs At Work
Feb 6th
Relativity Media is wisely taking advantage of Super Bowl XLVI to drum up interest for the fast-approaching release of Act of Valor – a film project two years in the making, due to the limited availability of its central cast, which is composed primarily of real active-duty Navy SEALs playing… well, themselves. Everything from the acting crew featuring actual military personnel, to the use of live ammunition during combat sequences – and directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh utilizing mobile Canon 5D Mark II cameras, in order to literally get in the middle of the action – is meant to make Act of Valor a largely accurate portrayal of SEAL operation techniques (not to mention, a high-octane viewing experience)

‘Evil Dead’ Remake: Casting Update & First Set Photo [Updated]
Feb 3rd
A Sam Raimi-approved Evil Dead remake is coming, whether fans like it or not. This particular recycling of a beloved cult classic is very much embracing Hollywood’s “darker and grittier” remake creed, by abandoning the mix of over-the-top gore and Three Stooges -style comedy from Raimi’s original film(s), in favor of a dead-serious supernatural horror flick, with Ichi the Killer levels of violence.
